Checking the box to "Remember me on this computer" when you login saves your email address and your STUDYaides recommendations on the computer you are using. It will be saved so that the next time you come to this site, you will not have to login to see your STUDYaides recommendations. For security purposes, your password will not be saved on the computer. You will need to enter your password each time you wish to checkout or access personal information. If you should ever wish to delete the email from your computer, deselect the "Remember me on this computer" checkbox the next time you login.
If you are using a public computer or shared computer, or simply do not want your email saved, do not select the "Remember me on this computer" checkbox when you login.
In order to ensure the security of your data, we recommend you log out after you finish using STUDYtactics. The log out link is located in the My Account section of the site.
SSL/Secure Server
We take security very seriously. All of your ordering information -- including your name, address, and credit card number -- is encrypted using a secure server for maximum security. Your credit card and billing information cannot be read as it travels to our ordering system. We take every precaution to protect the privacy of your credit card information through the use of the Secure Socket Layers (SSL). The SSL is the most advanced security system available.
In the unlikely event that your credit card number is fraudulently misused, most banks either cover all the charges that result from the unauthorized use or may limit your liability to just $50. Please check with your bank to verify their policy on unauthorized credit card use. You must notify your credit card provider of any unauthorized use.

Why Do I Need to Log Out?
If you're using a computer in a public place, or one that other people use, then you should log out and close your browser when you are finished using STUDYtactics. Otherwise, the next user may be able to see what courses you're taking or may be able to change your interest areas. They won't be able to order anything in your name or see your credit card information, but it's still a good idea to log out and close your browser when you're done.

The information contained within STUDYtactics is separated through the links at the top of the page according to your level of study. You can always browse for materials on a level of study other than your own by clicking on a different tab, and you can always change your Level of Study through the My Account part of the site.

By capturing your interest areas and your level of study, we can present you with the most relevant information for your needs and interests.

    • Users with MBS Direct or Virtual Bookstore Accounts:
      We have your current course information from your MBS Direct or Virtual Bookstore orders. Your My Study Aides™ page will present you with materials that are relevant to your courses. If you have selected Interest Areas (through the My Account link), you'll find a link under your list of courses that says "View Recommendations Based on Interest Areas." By clicking this link, you'll be taken to a My Study Aides™ page based not on your courses, but on the subjects you selected as interest areas.

  • Search
    On the Search page, you first select whether you want to search by Author, Title, Keyword, or ISBN. Second, you select the subject you want to search within (or leave it defaulted to "In All Categories"). Third, type your search term or terms in the box and hit submit. All terms are considered to be linked by an AND, and word order doesn't matter, so "shakespeare love" will return both Love Poems of Shakespeare and the screenplay to Shakespeare in Love. Author searches just last names, Title searches all the words in the title, and Keyword searches both fields as well as a third 'keywords' field.

Why should I Register?
By inputting some information about your interests and level of study, we can present you with a customized list of materials that match your interests. We also present materials that are relevant to your level of study.
When do I need to Register?
In order to become a STUDYtactics member, simply Register during the checkout process or at any time while browsing the site. Registering allows you to save your profile, view customized book recommendations based on your interests, receive special offers via email, and speed up checkout.
What if I have an account on MBS Direct or the Virtual Bookstore?
If you have an existing account on MBS Direct or on your school's Virtual Bookstore, you can use the email you used on your last order and your password to log into STUDYtactics. If you do attempt to register, we will recognize your login information and ask you to login.
What If I've Forgotten My Password?
If you have forgotten your password or your password does not seem to be working in STUDYtactics, you can click the Forgot my Password link on the login screen. Once on this screen, input your email address, and your password will be immediately sent to your email account.
HOW DO I UPDATE MY ACCOUNT? Top
All of your personal information, from your order history and interest areas to your contact information, is stored in the My Account section of the site. Visit "Update Account" to view or change any of your personal information or your account settings.
Note to Virtual Bookstore and MBS Direct users:
You cannot update your course information on the STUDYtactics website. You must use the MBS Direct website or your school's Virtual Bookstore to change your course information.
ORDERING Top
Shopping Cart
To place an order through STUDYtactics, select whether you would like to purchase a new or used material (depending on availability) and click on the "Add To Cart" button. If an item is currently unavailable, you will not be able to add it to your cart. A running total of the items in your shopping cart is located in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. If you would like to view the items in your cart, click on the cart button next to your running total. You will only see the cart button when you have at least one item in your cart.
  • How do I order Additional Copies?
    If you want to order more than one copy of an item, you can update the quantity once you have added the item to your cart. When you are in your Shopping Cart, click on the "Order Another" link next to your item. You can choose a new or used book (if available) and then add it to your cart. You will see that an additional copy of that item has been added to your cart.
  • How do I remove items from my Shopping Cart?
    If you want to remove any items in your Shopping Cart, check the box(es) next to the item you do not want to purchase and click on the "Update Total" image. This will remove those items from your Shopping Cart and update your order total.
Checkout
Once you are ready to checkout, click on the "Go to Checkout" button in your shopping cart. You will be asked to enter/verify your billing and shipping information. You will be given the opportunity to choose your desired shipping option. After you have selected your shipping option, you will see your order summary. Please review your order carefully; if you want to amend your order, this is your last chance to do so. You can click the "Change Billing/Shipping" button to update your address and shipping information, or the "Change Cart Contents" button to modify the books in your cart. However, once you click the "Finalize your Order" button, you will not be able to amend your order in any way. Shortly thereafter, you will receive an Order Confirmation email. You will also receive an email once your order has been shipped.
Payment
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. Payments made by any other method, including student charge accounts, are not currently accepted.
When Can I Expect My Order?
Your order will be picked and shipped by the end of the next business day (Monday-Friday excluding Holidays) following receipt of your order. Shipping within the continental United States should take 2-7 business days for Ground UPS, and 3-7 business days for Priority Mail (excluding holidays). Express shipping methods should reach you in their guaranteed time, one business day for Next Day Air and two business days for 2nd Day Air (excluding holidays).
CAN I CANCEL/CHANGE MY ORDER? Top
Due to the highly automated nature of our order process, we cannot cancel or amend your order in any way once you have finalized your order. Within minutes of the receipt of your order, about the same time that your receive our email Order Acknowledgment, it is already part of the order queue of our automated warehouse system. By the time you receive our email Shipping Acknowledgment your order is packed and sitting in a semi trailer with thousands of other packages.
If you want to change your order, you will need to place a new order with us and then promptly return any materials you do not need or want. You can also return the complete order to us for a full refund (excluding postage). Please follow the return instructions found on the back of your invoice/packing slip and on your Shipping Acknowledgment email. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

  • UPS Ground shipment delivery date is an estimate. Transit time is not guaranteed but is approximately 2-7 business days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays).
  • For more information on standard delivery times in your area, please contact UPS at (800)742-5877.
  • UPS Air orders placed before 12 p.m. CST/CDT (Monday-Friday excluding holidays) will be shipped on the same day your order is placed. Orders placed after 12 p.m. CST/CDT may not ship until the next business day.
  • UPS packages may require signature at time of delivery, dependent on the discretion of the UPS driver. If you will not be home at delivery, please leave a note with your signature requesting the package be left. If you live in an apartment, please specify on your note that you would like the package left at your apartment office, if applicable, since packages are not normally driver released in apartment or condominium residences for security purposes.
  • UPS Saturday Delivery is only available in selected areas. All other UPS services are delivered during business days (Monday-Friday, excluding holidays) only.
Priority Mail
  • Priority mail is only recommended for APO/FPO and PO Box addresses. Priority Mail is a non-traceable service and does not have a guaranteed delivery time.
First Class Mail
  • First Class mail option is only available when the order weight is up to one pound. First Class Mail is a non-traceable service and does not have a guaranteed delivery time.
International Shipping
  • Customs duties, taxes, and/or other fees may be additional.
  • An additional shipping charge will be levied for each back-ordered item.
  • UPS Worldwide Postal Delivery shipments cannot be tracked and are not guaranteed for delivery within a specific time frame.
  • For UPS Worldwide Postal Delivery, MBS assumes responsibility for the delivery of your order to your country's postal service. It is your responsibility to coordinate with the postal service regarding delivery of the shipment to your residence. If your package is lost or misdirected, MBS will be unable to send a replacement.
  • ALL domestic UPS shipments can be tracked and are guaranteed.
eContent Delivery
  • eContent is delivered to the email address associated with your account.
  • For Security reasons, we cannot deliver the eContent to any other email address.
  • If you have mis-typed your email address, please go into your account and change the email address.
    Please Note: Changing your email address will change your user name for the Virtual Bookstore and Studytactics.
HOW DO I TRACK MY ORDER? Top
All orders placed within at least the last six months are accessible in STUDYtactics through the My Account section of the site. You can view your order status and track the delivery of your package (depending on the type of shipping option chosen). Please wait until the following business day after you receive your Shipping Acknowledgment before you Track your Order.
RETURNS Top
Return Instructions
Materials must be returned in their original condition within two weeks of date received.
New materials must be returned in new condition to receive a full refund. Loose-leaf items must be in the original shrink-wrap. CDs, diskettes, pass codes and software included with a book or sold alone must be intact, in the original packaging or it will be nonrefundable. All components of an item must come back in the same shipment to receive credit.
A copy of the invoice, or the original invoice, must be returned with your unwanted item(s). On the front of the invoice, circle any items that are being returned. In the Returns section on the back of the invoice (if you make a copy, copy both sides), please indicate the reason for the return.
Pack the item(s) carefully and ship via UPS Ground or U.S.P.S. insured mail to:

Postage on returns is NOT REFUNDABLE unless the return is the result of a STUDYtactics error.
STUDYtactics reserves the right to refuse the return of damaged or incomplete items.
  • I missed the 2 week grace period for returning my materials
    Any course materials received outside of the returns time period will be checked in at buyback prices. If there is no value on the item, you will receive notification in the form of a letter or email. You have 3 weeks from that notification to request the no value material back, and it must be shipped at your expense.
Swapping New and Used Items
In order to expedite your shipment, we may on occasion need to substitute Used materials for New materials, or vice versa. In the event we substitute Used for New, your invoice/packing slip will reflect that change and credit for the difference will be processed immediately. Should we substitute New for Used it will be at our expense and you will pay no additional cost.
When Will I Receive My Refund?
Credit will be issued in the same manner the payment was originally made. Credit card accounts will be credited as soon as your shipment is processed. Please allow 2 - 3 weeks for processing time.
Wrong/Damaged Course Materials Received
Please inspect your package immediately upon receipt. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, please email Customer Service at [email protected]. In the event that you have received defective, incorrect or unacceptable material, instructions will be given for its return, and a new order will be placed.
ABOUT USED TEXTBOOKS Top
Some highlighting or sparse writing can be expected in used textbooks. If you are not completely satisfied with the quality of any book you order from us, we will promptly correct the problem.
