  Review

"Here is a dream book for all who love flora that grow, that flower and fruit, that surprise with
color and form: a book for any and all who are dedicated to efforts to create beauty, harmony, excitement and satisfaction through the art of landscape."

--Jerry Raynor -- The Daily Reflector -- Greenville, NC

"Clemson University horticulture professor R. Gordon Halfacre is getting good reviews on the fifth edition of his garden handbook, Landscape Plants of the Southeast. Written with Anne R. Shawcroft of Raleigh, NC, the book is described as a must for a 'hands-in-the-dirt gardener or a cat-curious someone who simply has to know what's growing in
the neighborhood.'"

--Anderson Independent -- Anderson, SC

"One of the best made, most useful, most attractive books I've seen in the recent years is the new edition of Landscape Plants of the Southeast. The publisher has spared no expense to print this fine book on heavy stock, and to illustrate it with some 400 beautiful color photographs."

--Richard Langford -- Review Editor for New Smyrna Beach Observer, Deland Sun News, Deltona Enterprise, Fla. and Statesboro, Ga. Herald.

" Let me say in the beginning that one should not shy away from the inclusion of 'Southeast' in the title of the book. A map of hardiness zones in the front of the book reveals that the volume deals with plant zones 6,7,8, and 9 and the North Carolina and Texomaland are in zones 7 and 8. Most of the plants discussed in the book are already to be found in Texomaland."

--Paul O. Cardwell -- Sherman Democrat guest writer. Denison Tx.

"For many years, I have required your Landscape Plants of the Southeast as a required text for a course, Plant Materials for Landscape use, that I teach at Christopher Newport College. I plan to continue using the same book in the future."

--David A. Bankes, Ph.D., Professor of Botany and Horticulture, Christopher Newport College, Newport News, Va.
